Hirata Tourism was founded nearly half a century ago in Ishigaki as a local fishing tackle store. The company expanded its business year by year and has become major tourism company on the island nowadays. At first its business was focused on the leading role as a boat (ferry) operator and after the several dacades the company is now showing its presence in tourism industry mainly by providing various services for indivisual tourists rather than large group of people.
